The Emerald Spire is a widely-known mysterious structure located in Windhill County. Measuring 125 m in height the tower can be seen from far away, oft filling wanderers with fear and intrigue in equal measure. Although not much is known about its origins, the spire is said to predate the Kingdom of Loria, having been found by aboriginals long before the colonialists' arrival. It is a majestic structure made of carved and polished stone with emerald windows and fixtures that, somehow, have mostly endured the passing of time, going on for years without significant damage or looting. The tower's entrance can be found past a weathered bridge crossing the rivers connected to Lake Sidna.
Years ago it was thoroughly studied by mages and archaeologists, but all returned empty-handed. None were able to enter, not through its grand doors or windows. How long the tower has been sealed for, and what awaits beyond its gates, is a mystery unsolved for centuries and many more years to come. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the spire, it is the object of many myths and legends.
Strong magical readings in the structure and surrounding areas gave way to the most widely accepted theory, being that the Emerald Spire is the product of a powerful spell. Many explorers, mages and archaeologists, have returned from the tower with no recollection of their expeditions, while possessing new items or knowledge never seen or heard of before. These inconsistencies line up with older and more popular legends that claim those who present themselves 'as they were delivered unto the world', may be granted access to the spire, where whatever they desire can become reality within its frigid confines. None have been able to really confirm the veracity of this tale.
Wherever this spire came from, and whatever its purpose may be, it remains as one of the world's greatest mysteries, and the source of many bedtime stories.
