Age: Looks to be in her 20's, but is 123
Appearance: Pale skin, black hair, purple eyes that have a tech-like appearance. Her full body appears to be 'glitching'.
Apparel: Scyn generally wears very low-cut tops, tech-wear and loose fitting trousers with golden jewelry that adorns her body in various places.
The body of the user flickers throughout a small radius, about 1-2 feet out from the user itself, causing her to "teleport" in different points in the area, which can be used both offensively and defensively. The movement follows a pattern that is known only by the user making them hard to track in combat. This ability, caused by what is known as "The Virus", also has allows Scyn to communicate telepathically with the other users of Sanguis Domini.
The power to manipulate electricity. This ability has a few forms, but each type used has a cooldown of 2 posts per session (Ex: if Scyn were to use fire spike projectiles, she would have a cooldown of 2 posts until she could use the spikes again, but would be able to use fire balls - so on and so forth). Every 3 posts causes her ENR to go down by 1 until the session is either finished or a rest is taken.
- Imbuing an area with electricity (ex: the ground)
- Electric bombs (balls of electricity)
The name of this ability references their clan's process as a whole - this process creates a Sub-Mind that operates the tech of her body in sync with her brain. Sub-Mind enables her to control a bionic arm that acts as a super computer. The super computer is connected to a spectacle she wears over one of her eyes that allow for her to see a screen in real time. Her forearm contains projectors that, when powered up, can project a keyboard and a data screen showing binary coding for various objects she can bring into creation.
Scyn's power is a branch of data manipulation called 'Digital Materialization.' The user can materialize weapons, food, vehicles, even animals. To use this ability, the size of the materialization can determine the amount of ENR used. Anything less than 1 meter (5 feet) costs 1 ENR every 6 posts they are active and anything larger costs 2 ENR every 4 posts they are active.
>Improbable Weapon Proficiency
The ability to use bizarre weaponry with great skill and finesse. Scyn is known to use anything within her reach, or that she can create be it a wedding cake, a car door, or even a plant pot. The user can also perform feats, such as bludgeoning their opponents with a book, slicing their flesh with a towel and even find effective, offensive uses for bananas and other edible objects.
The user of this ability can use digital means to negate something from a world and into cyberspace. Scyn does this through a laser that is located within her right eye. When active, a purple beam fires from her pupil and can obliterate the object, person, or limb of the thing it hits, transforming it into binary code that is sent off into cyberspace. To use this ability it costs -1 ENR, can last until a direct hit of an object (or until 9 posts) and has a cooldown of 6 posts.
(Can be halted by the user at any point.)
The ability to move in an unpredictable manner within combat. This includes, but is not limited to, stumbling on purpose, back-bending to avoid bullets or even falling over. This is induced by laughter - whether it be forced laughter or genuine and lasts the duration of combat. So long as someone makes her laugh, Scyn is able to start moving as if she were a drunken master of combat. (Refer to the Drunken Master class from DND)
The spectacle that Scyn wears in order to see the code scrolling across her screen when using Bionic Prowess. This tech is specicially designed to withstand electrical damage due to Scyn's ability. These specs also help her to browse the web as she pleases (in relation to the super computer on her arm), and even hack into various databases.
A baton-like weapon that doubles as an electric cattle-prod. The baton can extend fully into an electrified staff that allows for her to use this up close or at a distance.
As the rumors go…
Deep in the land of Greenveld, obscured from a stranger's sight, prowls an otherworldly thing. A living mist of plague and death, they say, it paces restless in the depths of hidden caverns and crevices atop rotted bone and charred flesh. It is where life and peace go to die, as the unholy miasma it radiates penetrates even the very earth to hunt during the day when it can't. It's home is a forbidden place, they mutter. Ungodly. Godly wrath. Vengeance incarnate, they worry. They repent. They fear. They stay away. Good.
‘End them all.’
‘This pain - never ending...’
Sync’s gaze remained locked on her fingers - coated in a thick layer of blood; not hers. She raised her gaze and her hands, holding her hands in front of her face while her pupils slowly constricted and dilated. Her head tilted back, and the pads of her fingers made contact with her face. They trailed along her flesh, leaving streaks of the blood and igniting a look of astonishment. She dropped to a crouch, holding her face in her hands and staring at the ground while the pain continuously flooded her system in waves.
‘Was this it? The feeling everyone talked about? The overwhelming sense of madness?’
‘The irresistible urge to kill?’
Her fingers dug into her scalp upon hearing more voices - ones that weren’t in her head, began to approach where she sat with bodies strewn about her.
In the beginning days of the Palinoia, a generational massacre almost wiped out the entirety of their clan. The oldest of their members were given a choice of immortality. This immortality was implemented through a technology that Aeternus Palinoia created. Their clan was divided between the supporters of this cause and those who disagreed with it. Scyn's blood-line holds a long-winded seat on the supporters' side. As a result, Scyn was one of the newest (and youngest) generations of the Palinoia clan to be assimilated into what they call the Coronation Sequence.
The Coronation Sequence is a process in which the Palinoia clan embeds living technology into the human body - creating a type of bionic human that also grants immortality. This sequence creates what the clan calls "Sub-mind" - which is essentially the living technology co inhabiting the human's body to fully assimilate the technology with bodily functions and become as seamless as possible. The process of embedding the technology is extremely painful, and not everyone survives the process. Sub-mind is able to adjust to everyone it attaches to, and is able to create unique abilities catered to each individual (Bionic Prowess).
Scyn's family remained alive during the time of her assimilation, however they would soon find themselves in shallow graves outside of Dawsbury - their clan's residential settlement within Greenveld. The pain of the assimilation caused a break within Scyn's psyche, causing her to succumb to the madness that she fought against desperately.
Once the process was completed, Scyn fought desperately to keep the intrusive thoughts and compulsions in check, but was pushed over the edge when her sibling had gone too far. In turn, Scyn viciously murdered her blood-related relatives and a decent chunk of her clan that happened to be within the vicinity. It was unprovoked, unhinged, and Scyn had since been put under strict orders to be monitored closely.
There was one other time where Scyn lost control of her impulses - shortly after the return of the Godfather of Immortality - Aeternus, returned, a woman by the name of Essence fell into the pit that their life revolved around - a death sentence to most outside of their clan. However, it came as a surprise to almost everyone when she emerged alive and nearly fully assimilated with their living technology. Scyn was one of the first people to have physical contact with the woman - helping her to her feet when she stumbled. Through improper technique in assimilation, Essence was found out to have a glitch in her system. Upon physical contact, this glitch, known between them as "The Virus' ', has infected Scyn.
Scyn lost control and nearly went on a murderous rampage once again when The Virus had begun to corrupt the system she had nearly mastered. The Elders of their clan caught wind of Essence surviving the fall and of Scyn putting the rest of the members at risk, so they were promptly kicked out. Aeternus followed the two women in order to traipse the Earth with whatever they desired.
