Name: Guinevere Bonchasis de Kaminane
Appearance: Although she can come across as a little unhinged, Guinevere is nothing short of immaculate when it comes to her appearance. Her raven’s hair is often pulled back into a bun with a hairpin that’s probably committed assault. Sharp, unwavering eyes, an expert dash of makeup, and a falcon’s nose complete the impression of a woman of intense focus and attention to detail. The wind whistles in her wake.
Apparel: Guinevere’s a fan of a high-collared riding vest, balloon sleeves and pantaloons, and high boots, with an eye to decorum that her personality often doesn’t match.
Hometown: Estate near Haven, Windhill
Guinevere’s Energy is negative. Magic that targets her must first exceed her resistance capacity before it can take effect.
Bob uses Greater Telekinesis (2 ENG) to try and throw Guinevere into a wall. Guinevere’s body resists the magic targeting her (-6 ENG -> -4 ENG), and Bob’s spell fails. Bob then teams up with Clyde to hit her with two spells. Clyde’s spell of 4 ENG hits her and is resisted, but it leaves Guinevere’s Energy at 0. Bob’s spell hits her, but Guinevere’s resistance capacity has been reached, so the spell successfully throws Guinevere out of a window.
This only applies to magic that specifically targets her. For example, telekinesis acting on her must exceed her resistance capacity to take effect, but a magic-propelled bullet is still a bullet. Expulsion:
Guinevere’s resistance capacity regenerates at a rate of -1 ENG per post as her body expunges the arcane power as if it were poison.
Dead is Dead:
As she has no arcane nature, Guinevere cannot enter the Intangible Instance.
Runic Engineer’s toolkit
Brace-Assisted Non-Newtonian Shield Unit (BANSU) Suit
The Bansu Suit is rated to 2-post defence against small arms fire or impacts of equivalent force, or 1-post defence against explosions, plus cushioning for a fall before the suit must recharge out of combat. The rule of common sense applies; Projectiles can still knock her off her feet and direct hits with heavy ordnance will still obliterate her. It is useless against magic that does not rely on kinetic force.
In Melee, any powerful attack will be repulsed, but the shield can be evaded by slicing at speeds slower than it can detect. A skilled opponent could therefore still target vulnerable points, such as arteries and tendons, or wear Guinevere down with small wounds.
Compression-Capable Aircraft Prototype (C-CAP) Mark II.B
C-C Aircraft can change velocity at accelerations that would usually kill its pilot or destroy the plane. Guinevere likes to boast that using a spatial compression chamber, it’s theoretically possible to ‘have a tea party while the plane turns on a Crown at the speed of sound’. The Mark II.B is not capable of this, but the comment does illustrate its potential.
Squid-Face can teleport to any magically unprotected location in Solace, provided that the distance can be calculated or a Grade A-B Telestone can be used as an anchor. It takes 2 turns to achieve Critical Compression, teleporting on the third. The Mark II.B is almost never on target and the cryptite core misaligns when it jumps, taking a day to repair.
The de Kaminane Rapier
That entitles me to the Rapier and bollocks to the fact that I can’t use it. It’s the principle. All me cousins can walk into Lake Sidna, for all I care.
