The way it began is unknown to Bailey herself, the life unknown that plagued her past was one of mystery and elusiveness. Bailey was once a normal girl going through high-school and on-going to college to study most of the core subjects you would find in an educational setting:
She was a grade-A student with a bright future ahead of her, a future she had planned to dedicate to being a history buff and a counselor for the mentally troubled.
However, her schedule changed when her plans were cut-down just as quick as her life was, there was a powerful being who had attacked her village and slaughtered everyone within. This monster was known as: “The Devourer”
The Devourer had cut down Bailey’s parents along with everyone else living there at the time, Bailey was no exception, however instead of being buried in history and forgotten, The Devourer had other plans for her and had modified her corpse to house a powerful crystal that held none-other than The Devourer’s spirit itself.
Why was her corpse given a crystal to house the monster’s spirit?
The reasoning being on the Devourer’s side, he had seen an altered timeline where he fell to The Cotton Witch Coven and was sealed away, eventually placed inside the body of a young infant known as: “Talia Jae Bloom.”
Not being one to admit defeat in any timeline, he forced open a portal and chucked Bailey through after inserting his own spirit within the crystal, a prison of his own making instead of a prison that the coven forced upon him.
However his motives were going to be different from the coven’s, he traveled dimensions so that not only would Talia become an eventual vessel for his other self to be revived, but so would Bailey, and then the two of them would join forces to return to the other time-line, slaughtering the coven there and then returning to their respective dimensions to rule over the ruin of what would be left of Solace after they were done.
A goal of absolute domination for both timelines.
That whole strategy planned was mucked however, upon entering the new Solace, the original Devourer’s spirit was distorted, instead of him controlling Bailey’s body he would find himself having his consciousness of spirit yanked from the Crystal and forced out to be dragged into Talia’s body, unknowingly fusing with his other self due to a law of time that would not allow two Devourer’s to co-exist.
Talia would gain immense power from it, but Bailey…
Bailey was thrust into a new life when the Devourer’s aura reached into the ‘Intangible Instance’ and yanked Bailey’s spirit out of it’s resting place, placing it back into her body, her new, altered body.
Bailey would awake into a new life with no memory of anything from her past timeline, initially brain-dead, however with the knowledge of The Devourer in tact, she was able to retain her basic thinking ability and functionality, just did not have memory of family or her past because the memories were severed when the dimensional link was.
The spirit within her crystal would have fused into her body and created a being many might call a ‘Ghost’ or ‘Spirit-walker’ Bailey was stuck in a place between the living and the dead, being neither one entirely, it is a mystery to her how she is alive and a mystery to any being able to read her spirit, where she came from.
When Bailey began her life, she was homeless and that really isn’t a big deal for a ghost, but loneliness was, and she found herself getting mixed up in gang activity and she had done some pretty illegal stuff, like stealing directly from the Queen.
Due to her nature she was able to always avoid getting caught or captured, but it didn’t change the fact that she had become a criminal, and for many years, she helped street gangs steal loot, from businesses, to rich people, to apartments, you name it, she has probably helped in stealing it.
However this life of crime became increasingly uncomfortable with Bailey so she had faked her death, she had kept her ghost powers a secret from her otherwise non-powered individuals so it was easy to pretend that someone shooting her killed her, even though she was already dead.
Nowadays she makes a living by getting hired too pull carriages or help people travel across Solace with her giant cat-form, it is a job that has allowed her to see the world and explore it, and it helps her to have a straight-life and not go back to what the homeless street-rat would do.
