Information

Name:  Aster

Age:  24

Species:  Human

Height:  5'10''

Appearance:  Standing tall and toned, Aster is an imposing figure to run into. Her wild, dark hair is often messily tied back and away from her rugged face, dirtied from weeks on the road, yet free from any scars. Deep, stormy grey eyes hide under her furrowed brows, swimming with hues of silver and blue. Her hands are scratched and sore from work, but are yet to be calloused. If one were to peek closely under her loose sleeves, they may even notice a missing ring finger on her left hand.

Apparel:  Aster commonly wears a beige, possibly once white tunic, paired with a pair of dark brown, mud (and maybe blood) stained trousers, and finishes her look with two ratty, old, weathered, leather sandals. She stole her wardrobe off of a drunk sailor she found, passed out under the docks of a busy harbour.

Hometown:  Adamantia

Character Skills

Shattered Reflection

Aster doesn't quite know why her magic takes the visual form of butterflies, but she’s incredibly ashamed of it. Hence why she has very little practice with her magic. With a simple flick of her wrist, she can summon a small flock of butterflies with sharp, glass wings to do her bidding. With no weapons on hand, nor the crowns to afford one, Aster commonly uses them as weapons. They follow her hands like a swarm of bees attracted to honey, meaning any punches she lands with her glass butterflies deal the same amount of damage as a small dagger.
[Costs 1 enr per use / Lasts 1 turn / Low damage / No cooldown]
With enough coaxing, Aster can command them to arrange themselves to be a mirror reflection of her or anything she holds. Spacing out her butterflies like this leaves them very fragile, and if this mirror reflection is shattered, then she won't be able to summon her glass butterflies until they rearrange themselves. If planned poorly, this could leave her defenceless for quite some time. If her glass butterflies are called back before being shattered, they can be called back again for melee purposes with no cool down. They are stubborn, however, and will refuse to form another mirror image for the rest of the battle.
[Costs 1 additional turn after summoning / Lasts 3 turns unless shattered / Cool down of 5 turns if shattered / Can only be used once per battle]

Silken Cocoon

A small flock of fluffy, moth-like creatures with pearlescent wings rise from the ground, crawling onto the feet of Aster's opponents and quickly spinning silken webs to hinder them. It doesn't take them too long to build their little webs before they grow tired and fall asleep, unable to work again until well after their work has disintegrated. While rather sturdy, the webs are flexible and highly flammable.
Though her skill can be quite useful in combat, Aster usually summons these companions to fix her tattered clothes, and often forgets to use them during battle.
[Costs 3 enr per use / Lasts 3 turns / Lowers opponent's speed by -2 / Cool down of 2 turns after skill has worn out / Can only target one opponent at a time]

Final Embers

While she knows the butterflies aren't quite "real", Aster feels bad for this flock every time she summons them. At their master's call, a flock of warm, gently glowing, crystalline butterflies will fly in and sacrifice themselves for their master's safety, before shattering into bright embers and falling to the ground as ash. Being warm to the touch, Aster can summon them to keep herself warm for a short period of time, before they tragically succumb to the cold. She can also use them to start a tiny fire the size of a candle flame, but without any fuel, the fire will quickly burn out and their deaths will be in vain.
[Costs 5 enr per use / Adds +2 to her defense / Has a cooldown of 4 turns]

Hungry Moths

With a sharp whistle, Aster can call upon a flock of furry moths to chew away at the clothes of her opponents. Being completely useless against armor and taking far too long to be useful in battle, she only ever uses this as a last ditch effort to escape an unfavorable situation. Aster's own shame will prevent her from using this skill again, after it's initial use. She needs a bit of time to recover from the embarrassment. The little moths are quite flammable, but also have an odd ability to scream…
As it's not truly her magic, there are situations where Aster can't access this skill. For example, being stuck within a building with all the windows closed.
[Costs 1 enr to summon / Takes 4 turns to completely chew away at opponent's garments / Cool down of 2 in-character days]

Parfum de Fleur [Passive]

Butterflies are attracted to Aster the same way flies are attracted to dog shit. A walk in a flower field is like a death sentence to Aster, as it doesn't take long for her to be hunted down by a swarm of butterflies, then promptly being consumed by the colourful cloud. She could swat at them, but Aster doesn’t have the heart to harm the butterflies, so she prefers to run away. Still, the image of a raggedy, homeless woman battling with a flock of pretty insects doesn't bode well for what little reputation she has, and she would rather avoid them all together.

Backstory
After a messy, and somewhat bloody, divorce, Aster decided to abandon everything tying her to her previous life and start anew. This included her name, relationships, and belongings. With nothing to cling onto, no connections to help her, and no savings to keep her afloat, Aster flutters from town to town, running the occasional odd job or two for a warm meal and a roof over her head.
